Pair of displays cabinets in hammered steel signed Michel Zadounaisky

Nice pair of showcases made to measure by Michel Zadounaisky ironworker-sculptor Lyonnais
Narrow and high, they rest on curved legs framing a crosspiece made up of intertwined volutes and wrought iron. A similar decoration with two steel balls at the ends is arranged as a cornice.

One opening on the right and the other on the left, each showcase has its original lock and key.
The dimensions are slightly different for each showcase:
One is 46cm wide by 24cm deep.
The other measures 50 cm wide by 23 cm deep.
The height is the same for both: 183 cm
Very good general condition, bottom mirror slightly blistered at the foot of one of them.

Michel Zadounaisky, born March 10, 1903 in Ekaterinodar (Russian Empire) and died in La Hauteville (Yvelines) in 1983, was a sculptor from Lyon. He is considered one of the few blacksmiths to have tackled wrought iron as a sculptor and not just as a craftsman.
Son of Russian emigrants, Michel Zadounaisky moved to France in 1916 at the age of thirteen. He began his artistic apprenticeship at the Beaux-Arts in Lyon. The city then experienced a strong artistic emulation around big names of Art Nouveau and Art Deco such as Sornay, Krass, Linossier, Piguet or Paulin.
