Marble and Bronze clock by Théodore GECHTER - XIXth

Very elegant white marble clock topped with its patinated bronze signed Théodore Gechter * (1795 - 1844) displaying a pompous horse and his groom holding his back leg.
The clock, which has been completely revised and works perfectly, displays Roman enamel figures on earthenware on a background of gilded bronze decoration. The mechanism has a wire suspension and numbered 106 with its winding key.
Its white marble carved and molded on its bevelled angles is bordered by a large frieze in gilded bronze adorned with leaves and flowers.
Period: Early nineteenth.

Perfect condition after complete overhaul. Works perfectly.

Width 40 cm - Depth 17 cm - Height 54 cm
Very heavy.

* Theodore Gechter:
French sculptor, born in Paris in 1795 and died in the same city on December 11, 1844. He is notably a Bas-relief of the Battle of Austerlitz on the western pillar of the Arc de Triomphe.
